FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of a novel composite material based on peat and can be used to make, for instance package liners, containers for prolonged storage of vegetables, fruits, as well as for making construction slabs for walls, partition walls, ceilings and facing tiles for interior decoration of aeroplanes, ships, buildings etc. The composite material contains filler - waste paper and highland sphagnum moss or highland sphagnum peat humus; binder - tall rosin or alumina. The material also contains an aqueous extract of peat mud obtained by extraction of peat mud using mineral water sodium bicarbonate. The composite material has the following ratio of components, in wt %: waste paper - 44-46, highland sphagnum moss or highland sphagnum peat humus - 48-49, tall rosin - 1.6-1.76, alumina - 0.7-0.9, aqueous extract of peat mud - the rest.
EFFECT: preparation of composite material with better technical properties of articles, specifically improved quality owing to higher sorption capacity.
