FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: multilayer heated window has at least two superimposed sheets (A, B, C) of a mechanically strong transparent substrate, where between two neighbouring sheets there is an intermediate layer (4; 6) made from transparent plastic material. The window has on its surface or inside it at least one thin conducting or transparent layer (11) which lies in at least part of the window, where the said layer(s) (11) are heated due to the Joule effect in order to protect from icing and/or fogging. At least one thin layer (11) has stream separating lines (13) made through etching and meant for directing current form one strip to another. Thickness of the said stream separating lines (13) is between 0.1 and 0.2 mm. The method of making the said window involves joining sheets of the transparent substrate using intermediate layers made from transparent plastic material. A transparent thin conducting layer containing stream separating lines and current supply apparatus is deposited on at least one of these sheets. The stream separating lines are made through ablation by exposure to a yttrium-aluminium garnet laser.
EFFECT: protection from icing.
