SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ship control methods. Proposed method comprises continuous diagnosing serviceability of separate modules of the ship automatic control system (SACS) and pinpointing faults in SACS measuring unit. To keep SACS properly running in automatic control over ship motion with revealed faults, SACS is automatically readjusted. Proposed method allows pinpointing faults in SACS measuring unit. To preserve serviceability of SACS with revealed faults, SCAS architecture is automatically readjusted.

EFFECT: complete maintenance of automatic ship control.
