FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for protection of downhole pump against ingress of mechanical impurities in pumping out edge waters from wells. Proposed modular filter comprises base 1, filtration unit comprising one or several replaceable filtration sections 2 and head 3. Base 1 comprises case 4 accommodating rotary shaft 5. Every section 2 comprises perforated case 17 wherein shaft 10 revolves. Splined coupling 11 is fitted on one end of shaft 10, the other end of said shaft has splined elements for connection with mating parts of aforesaid splined couplings 11. Every section 2 has adapter 14 and collar bushing 19 jointed to perforated case 17 and having fluid passage holes 20 and 21, and filtration element arranged between said adapter and collar bushing. Adapter 14 and collar bushing 19 have jointing surfaces to joint section 2 to base 1, or to previous section 2 and head 3, or next section 2, respectively.

EFFECT: higher filter capacity, better reparability, ease of use.
