SUBSTANCE: electrothermal device for lighting up gas burners includes heating element including ceramic or metal-ceramic element having the shape of solid or hollow cylinder and containing the impurity of metal powder having catalytic activity for gas oxidation, or coated with such powder; at that, the above heating element is capable of heat generation by means of Joule effect at connection of electrodes to electrical energy source.
