FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: diagnostics frequency with amplitude exceeding noise level is defined in vibration signal in more narrow frequency range which allows using proposed method for pinpointing and preventing dangerous strains in vanes. Housing vibration signal from at least one transducer is converted into amplitude-frequency distribution. Turbo machine wheel diagnostics vibration frequency is defined, vibrations being caused by strain waves travelling towards direction of wheel rotation and diagnostics frequency of vibrations caused by strain waves travelling in opposite direction. Appearance of component in vibration spectrum on one of diagnostics frequency is recorded to determine direction of travelling strain waves.

EFFECT: higher efficiency and reliability of diagnostics.
