FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be implemented for production of high-wear parts, particularly milling elements out of alloyed iron with ball-like graphite. Iron is melt in an electric furnace out of iron-carbon charge at simultaneous alloying and graphitising with modified ferrosilicon and at temperature of melt in furnace 1440-1460°C. When melt at 1440-1420°C temperature is tapped into a ladle, it is modified with spheroidising modifiers on base of magnesium and cerium. There is produced iron of the following chemical composition, wt %: carbon 2.2-4.0; silicon 0.5-3.5; manganese 0.2-3.0; chromium 3.0-10.0; nickel 2.0-5.5; boron 0.2-0.4; vanadium 0.2-1.0; copper 0.2.-0.8; aluminium 0.1-0.4; cerium 0.03-0.2, magnesium 0.02-0.1; calcium 0.05-0.2; iron - the rest. Moulds are filled at temperature 1310-1360°C, and shake-out is performed at temperature 750-550°C. Casts are cooled to ambient temperature in air.
EFFECT: production of milling elements with high values of hardness (HRC61), wear resistance, and impact resistance in cast condition.
