FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: self-contained system for directing sun rays onto an object relates to solar devices which enable concentration of solar radiation and increase solar exposure of shaded areas of the ground. The system employs actuators in form of torsion bars made from metal with shape memory effect. Sun rays are directed onto an object by turning a mirror reflector using two turning shafts: zenith and azimuth. The actuators are connected to the turning shafts through reduction gears with gear ratio of Ѕ. The turning shafts of the system are perpendicular to each other and pass through a single geometric point in space which coincides with the centre of the plane of the reflector. The actuators of the turning shafts are powered by heat energy from the sun. The actuators are connected to each other in pairs in a differential arrangement and in case of different degree of illumination (during oblique incidence of rays due to the selected light screen) they are at different temperature which results in deformation difference between them which is converted to rotation of the plane of the mirror reflector, which in turn results in automatic fixation of sun rays reflected from the mirror onto the illuminated object.
EFFECT: high specific working capacity and independence of actuators enables use of the device in any solar technology systems.
