FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to veterinary and deals with treatment or prevention of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in cat. For this purpose therapeutically efficient amount of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) or DHA in combination with one or several fatty acids, selected from group consisting of eicosapentaenoic acid, linolenic and alpha-linolenic acids. Preliminarily presence of IBD is determined by dynamics of lymphocyte proliferation in cat's blood samples including in DHA presence.
EFFECT: inventions ensure efficient IBD treatment due to reduction of CD4+ lymphocytes and neutrophils in cats with IBD.
