FIELD: transport, package.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of winding material onto reels. Reel consists of two identical halves jointed together that can be uncoupled and converging to cone towards central radial plane comprising two flange disks arranged on the plane outer ends. In compliance with proposed invention, reel is revolved around its central axis and material to be wound is fed with the help of guide displaced along reel length. Material is wound in layers passing parallel to lower taper surface, to top tapered surface and, further on, up to upper flange disk. Wound layers terminate on cylindrical surface connecting the circumference of two flange disks.

EFFECT: uniform and dense arrangement of wound layers, ease of reel disassembly in storage.
