FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a propylene oxide synthesis method. The disclosed method involves (I) reaction of propylene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a catalyst to form a mixture (GI), which contains propylene oxide, unreacted propylene and oxygen; (II) extraction of propylene oxide from the mixture (GI) to form a mixture (GII) containing propylene and oxygen; (III) reduction of oxygen contained in the mixture (GII) through at least partial reaction with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst which contains 0.001-1 wt % Sn and 0.001-1 wt % of at least one noble metal selected from a group consisting of Pd, Rh and Pt, deposited on at least one metal oxide, in each case relative the total weight of the metal oxide present in the catalyst.
EFFECT: efficient removal of oxygen from gaseous mixtures obtained directly or indirectly during propylene epoxidation.
