FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of materials by conductivity. Proposed method comprises separation of electrically conducting particles from the mix with non-conducting material under effect of variable magnetic field. Said magnetic field represents variable pulsed magnetic field with steep rear leading edge with duration where II is current in inductor with radius R"Г"; µ, σ, ρ are magnetic conductivity, electric conductivity and specific weight of separated material, respectively; k=3÷10 is the factor by which Lorentz force exceeds the weight of separated material particles.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of separation.
