FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: proposed igniting primer consists of metal cap with percussion charge fitted therein, shaped recess and protective coat. Said shaped recess arranged on percussion charge surface under protective cap accommodates bulk incendiary charge with high igniting ability and sensitivity to impact. Ratio between bulk incendiary charge height and total height of said shaped recess varies from 0.1 to1.0, while distance from shaped recess top to cap inner surface makes 0.05 to 0.6 mm.

EFFECT: stable and reliable operation of igniting primer and cartridge proper.
