FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: electric mode of furnace is controlled by switching voltage stages of furnace transformer and/or technological parametres by means of electrons shift. At the same time in period between electrode slips, specified electrode current is maintained by means of its movement in specified zone with monitoring of electrode current, position of electrode holder or exposure of furnace transformer. When electrode holder is in extreme low position, position of coking zone is identified, as well as "electrode-code" distance by signal of deviation of coking zone actual position relative to lower cut of contact jaw from specified value. Electric mode of furnace operation is optimised, through change of transformer parametres, or after generation of certain amount of electric energy value of slip is adjusted by signal of correction from the circuit. Displacement of electrodes is carried out continuously due to arrangement of electrode displacement control circuit as hydraulic. Temperature of furnace sole is measured, and if it is necessary to maintain heat balance, furnace sole is blown with the help of fans.
