SUBSTANCE: inferior eyelid of a patient is examined for the presence of follicles that show helminthic infection when observed on the inferior eyelid. Follicle size 0.2 mm and less show small helminths. The indented follicles of 0.2 to 0.6 mm are indicators of the cat's helminthic infection. The protuberant follicles of 0.2 to 0.6 mm indicate the dog's helminthic infection. Trichuris infection is diagnosed by the presence of the follicles exceeding 0.6 mm.
EFFECT: technique allows for simple and reliable diagnosis of helminthic infection and does not require a preparation process and administration of special agents.
