FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises heating open-hearth process billets to plasticity temperature, rolling them into hollow thin-wall barrel at two skew-rolling mills and tolling into pipes at step-rolled mills. At first skew rolling mill, rolling is performed without mandrel with diametre reduction by 7.0-10.0%, larger magnitudes of reduction related to smaller-diametre billets. Continuously cast billets are reduced by 4.0-6.0%, larger magnitudes of reduction related to larger-diametre billets. At second skew rolling mill, billets are pierced with diametre increased by 8.0-12.0%, larger magnitudes being related to smaller diametre billets and billets with diametre increased by 6.0-10.0%, larger magnitudes being related to smaller-diametre billets.
EFFECT: better structure of billets, better quality and reduced metal input.
