FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: scale for internal energy of the working medium of a thermometre is designed based on the first law of thermodynamics Q=U+W by joining two scales of inversely proportional numerical values of internal energy U of the working medium of a thermometre into a single scale. Both scales take measurements from a common origin in opposite directions. The scale over the measurement origin of the thermometre measures numerical values U3 for which internal energy U3=n3U0 in the working medium of the thermometre and its heating H3=n3H0 exceeds its content of U0 and its heating H0 at the triple point of water. The scale below the measurement origin of the thermometre measures numerical values n4 for which internal energy U4=U0/n4 in the working medium of the thermometre is lower than its content of U0 at the triple point of water, and its cooling X4=n4X0 for the same numerical values n4 higher than its cooling X0 at the triple point of water.
EFFECT: determination of values of internal energy of the working medium of a thermometre at different temperature values.
