FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to hardening media used at metal thermal treatment, and namely to hardening media on the basis of water-soluble polymers. Hardening medium has the following composition, wt %: partial calcic salt of polyacrylic acid - 4-6, partial calcic salt of polymethacrylic acid - 2-4, water - the rest.
EFFECT: hardening medium is more effective in comparison to known ones as to cooling capacity at thermal metal treatment.
