FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to therapy and aims at choosing a therapeutic approach to osteopenia. It involves densitometric evaluation of the bone mineral density. It is combined with single-energy densitometric visualisation of the spine in a lateral projection. When observing a body height decrease of at least one vertebra by 20% and more, drug treatment is the same as applied in complicated osteoporosis. If vertebral body height decrease is less than 20%, the preventive actions to suppress bone content are held.
EFFECT: method allows to develop an adequate therapeutic approach to osteopenia for a short period of time to enable specific antiosteoporotic preparations to be prescribed, if necessary, to prevent fractures in lower radiation exposure.
