FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: device (1) for treating a liquid, in particular potentially non-drinking water (W1) from a source, from microbiological contaminants and/or metal ions which can be oxidised to a higher oxidation state has at least one ozonation installation (8) which is hydraulically connected to the source for treating said liquid (W1) with ozone and physically separated from a reservoir (48) for storing purified liquid, which is hydraulically connected to the ozonation installation (8), wherein the device (1) is fitted with recirculation apparatus (68, 60) for recirculating the ozone-treated liquid (W4) from the storage reservoir (48) through a recirculation line (66, 69, 61). The recirculation line (66, 69, 61) is fitted with at least one filter. The invention also discloses a method of treating liquid, particularly water, using the said device.
EFFECT: efficient treatment of a liquid, in particular potentially non-drinking water.
