FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves separate supply of streams of carbon sulphide, aniline and sulphur, wherein the carbon sulphide stream is at sub- and supercritical pressure. The carbon sulphide stream is heated to sub- and supercritical temperature. Said streams are combined in a jet mixer where a homogeneous reaction mixture forms during their combined flow. The speed of the reaction mixture falls sharply and a fast autothermal reaction takes place in the adiabatic tube reactor to form molten 2-mercaptobenzothiazole. The stream of molten 2-mercaptobenzothiazole is throttled through a reducing device into an evaporation separator at lower pressure and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole is separated by removing hydrogen sulphide. The device has apparatus for supplying streams of initial reagents connected by a line to apparatus for heating the streams, a jet mixer, a tube reactor, a reducing device for controlling pressure and evaporation separator.
EFFECT: higher rate of reaction and degree of conversion of initial reagents to reaction products.
