FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: wastes in the form of iron- and zinc-containing slurries are thickened, dehydrated and dried till moisture content is 6-10 wt %, mixed with carbon-containing reducing agent and pelletised. There performed is counter-current treatment of pellets with combustion products of gaseous or liquid fuel, stripping of zinc and trapping of distillates so that zinc oxide is obtained. At that, dried iron- and zinc-containing slurries are mixed with iron- and zinc-containing dusts; oil-scale containing wastes of rolling production are added to mixture in quantity of 0.04-1.00 weight parts per 1 weight part of mixture, and dolomite burning wastes or lime production wastes and bentonite are added to the obtained mixture in quantities of 0.03-0.15 weight parts and 0.006-0.009 weight parts respectively. Obtained raw mass is pelletised till pellets with size of 10-25 mm are obtained, and treatment of pellets is performed with air flow coefficient 0.45-0.95 and temperature of 1150-1450°C at negative pressure in 15-160 Pa system and at temperature of exhaust treatment products of 450-700°C.

EFFECT: invention is aimed at intensification of processes of zinc, and iron reduction and distillates of zinc, economy of reducing agent, and increasing the degree of zinc extraction from wastes.
