FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed converter serves to supply DC consumers that demand high quality of rectified voltage. Proposed converter (dwg. 1) comprises three-phase transformer (1), two similar conversion systems, each made up of nine-phase variable e.m.f. system (2 and 3) built around common three-phase transformer (1) and nine-phase gate bridge (4 and 5). Every phase of the transformer incorporates two sections of secondaries for every structure, first of them having one medium tap and second having two medium taps connected to free AC inputs of the gate bridge. Note here that all six sections in each structure are interconnected to topologically make a hexagon with sections alternating by the number of taps. Note also that total relationship between the number of turns in all sections of secondaries is defined as where D≈2cos12°-1≈sin73° in the following order: equal parts of 1st section, equal extreme parts of 2nd section for first conversion structure and equal parts of 1st section, equal extreme parts of 2nd section for second conversion system. Note that nine-phase gate bridges (4 and 5) are connected in series. Extreme free anode and cathode gates in aforesaid connection make free outputs (6 and 7) of the device whereto load 8 is connected.
EFFECT: higher power factor and quality of rectified voltage.
