FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: hinged-piston mechanism includes an annular channel of constant cross section with windows in the wall for entry and exit of gases and two pairs of pistons in it. Each of the pistons is located between the pistons of another pair. Pairs of pistons are rigidly connected with the established coaxially separately for each pair of semi-axles connected kinematically with the output axle through universal joints and intermediate axles. Planes of coaxial plugs of adjoining universal joints are located between them at an angle less than 180 degrees. Intermediate axle with universal joints forms a driveshaft. Each semi-axle is connected by the drive shaft with parallel to the axis of semi-axle by intermediate axle and with pinion-flywheel on it located in engagement with the pinion-flywheel of the output axle. The mechanism is made with the possibility of adjustment the distance between the pistons in their position of closest approach by a device of adjustment the angle of relative deviation from the alignment of axles connected by the universal joint.
EFFECT: reducing the number of universal joints, increasing the range of possible angles of relative deviation from the alignment of jaws of universal joints and axles connected by universal joint, providing the possibility to adjust the degree of compression of gases.
