SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce highly pure silica. A solution of silicon-containing material is prepared by adding sodium silicate with silica modulus of 2.8-3.7 to filtered water while stirring thoroughly, heating to 30-40 °C and keeping density of the solution not less than 1.09 g/cm3. An aqueous solution of a battery electrolyte is obtained by adding battery electrolyte with density of 1.835 g/cm3 to filtered water while stirring thoroughly and keeping density of the solution not less than 1.02 g/cm3. When the aqueous solution of the silicon-containing material reacts with the aqueous solution of the battery electrolyte, pH of the formed gel becomes equal to 3.0-4.0 and the gel matures in 0.5-1.5 hours. The obtained silicon dioxide is dried and ground.
EFFECT: invention reduces the number of process steps when producing highly pure silica.
