FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to track manned aerial targets and guided air-to-air missiles separated from the said targets. The method involves parallel tracking based on a procedure with optimum multidimensional linear discrete Kalman filtration of a manned aerial target, as well as in each optimum filter of their column matrix of missiles separated from the manned aerial target, resolved on range, Doppler frequency, arising from the approach speed of each separated guided missile to its tracking station, and rotational speed of the missile-target line of vision, on which the station tracking the manned aerial target and the missile separated from the said target is located, detection of separation of the air-to-air guided missiles and their number from Pearson's chi-square criterion, direction of flight of each separated guided missile and determination of the time remaining to the convergence point of the guided missile and the aerial target, on which the station for tracking the target and the guided missile separated from the said target is located. Estimation is made only after deciding on the relative number of separated and resolved guided missiles on range, Doppler frequency and rotational speed of the missile-target line of vision.
EFFECT: broader functionalities for detecting the state of separated guided missiles.
