FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: method of entering information into an automated information system involves steps on which: movement of user input medium relative a touch screen is detected, approach of said medium by a distance shorter than a given distance L is detected; data on the specific user input medium approaching the touch screen are generated, the working function and set of information displayed on the touch screen is selected, information from user input medium is detected and a sequence of computer codes is created based on the selected working function. Said technical result is also achieved using an automated system for realising the disclosed method, which consists of the following units: an evaluator having an orientation unit and a certain number of censors, a touch screen, a data storage and generation unit. The sensors are connected to the orientation unit, the orientation unit is connected to the data storage and generation unit, which is in turn interconnected with the touch screen and connected to the automated information system.

EFFECT: faster information input with reduced errors during information input.
