FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a method of tracing sterilising agent cartridges on a sterilizer or inside. Method includes the following stages: a cartridge is detected inside a cartridge processing section in a steriliser by transferring a non-optical electromagnetic signal from the cartridge to a receiver; data is identified transferring an electromagnetic signal from the cartridge to the receiver; the identified data describing the fact that an appropriate cartridge is inserted into the steriliser is verified; used cartridge box is detected by a non-optical electromagnetic signal; occupancy of said box is determined; the cartridge is rejected if expired, and delivered to the box on a space available basis. The exchange data contains an expiry date of the cartridge and sterilisation parameters.

EFFECT: invention allows to reduce service time of the steriliser by operator and incident downtime of the steriliser, as well as to provide more ease of used cartridge removal.
