SUBSTANCE: in the method of marking objects using an electronic seal number, remote determination of the identification number and parametre of the open or closed stateis carried out through exchange of the electronic seal number with a reading device using request and response signals based on an open protocol, and the electronic seal number is authenticated by emitting a random uncoded sequence using the reading device, encoding this sequence in the electronic seal number using a closed asymmetrical key, transmitting this sequence to the reading device where it is decoded using the open key and compared with the initial sequence. Said method is realised using the corresponding device.
EFFECT: high quality and reliability of monitoring transportation of goods, high information content and reliability during remote automatic monitoring of goods.
