FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: in the method of transmitting information, the receiving antenna of a repeater is aimed at a signal source on the elevation angle and the azimuth through programmed turning and accurate aiming on the received signal, as well as programmed aiming of the transmitting antenna of the repeater on the user station in accordance with the calculated elevation angle and the azimuth. Turning of the receiving antenna on the azimuth in the given direction is carried out in a discrete manner, while measuring the signal. When turning the receiving antenna on the azimuth, the received signal changes in accordance with the directional pattern of the receiving antenna. Azimuth angles corresponding to transition of the signal through given threshold values are measured. The found azimuth is used when calculating the azimuth of the user station and aiming the receiving antenna on the azimuth on the signal source and the transmitting antenna on the user station.
EFFECT: high accuracy of aiming a receiving antenna on the azimuth on a signal source and a transmitting antenna on a user station in conditions for loss of a radio-television signal in the atmosphere.
