FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to printing and pulp and paper industry. Proposed method to detect scuffing of paper includes pressing of self-adhesive transparent film to paper sample for a certain period of time at continuous pressure, flaking of film with constant speed and photographing under microscope in passing light, with subsequent detection of number and geometric characteristics of paper dust particles projections onto surface of film with application of digital enlarged images of film surface and program of statistical processing on computer.
EFFECT: increased accuracy and efficiency of assessment method, possibility to detect specks of dust not only with medium dimensions, but also to detect share of paper surface area damaged in process of printing as a result of its insufficient strength (scuffing).
