SUBSTANCE: device has a ground-based automated air traffic control system, a request unit and a transponder mounted on aircraft. The ground-based air traffic control system includes azimuth measuring devices, altitude measuring devices, slant range measuring devices, adders, multipliers, cosine evaluators, square root evaluators and an indicator. The request unit includes a driving generator, a modulating code generator, a phase shift-keying device, heterodynes, mixers, a first intermediate frequency amplifier, power amplifiers, a duplexer, a transceiving antenna, a second intermediate frequency amplifier, a correlator, multipliers, a low-pass filter, a low frequency amplifier, a controlled frequency unit, a range indicator, a differentiator, a phase doubler, a phase halver, narrow band-pass filters and a Doppler frequency metre. The transponder has a transceiving antenna, a duplexer, power amplifiers, a heterodyne, a mixer and a third intermediate frequency amplifier.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining distance and approach velocity between aircraft by using a correlation function derivative.
