FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: at the first step, the onset of generating velocity deflecting noise is established. For this purpose, combined correlation-filtering processing of the signal and noise mixture received by an antenna in range gates and Doppler filters is performed. A special indicator of the signal-noise environment is generated based on defined rules from the complex amplitude values at the outputs of the analysed filters. Overshooting of a certain threshold value by this indicator indicates correct detection of velocity deflecting noise. At the second step, output voltage values of those Doppler filters for which the value of the indicator was greater than a preset threshold are analysed, and the Doppler frequency of the useful signal reflected from the target is defined as the frequency of the filter which has the maximum value of the indicator.

EFFECT: elimination of effects of powerful velocity deflecting noise on radar stations and picking up the useful signal reflected from a target on the background of said noise.
