FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: multilevel virtualiser is configured to eliminate a considerable part of functionalities associated with interception from a basic level virtualiser (which exists outside each partition) and instead directly include a considerable part of these functionalities in each partition. Defined functions for processing interceptions are in form of an "external monitor" which is realised inside the partition and reacts to separate interception events, and the basic level virtualiser sets up these external monitors in each partition and subsequently controls the external monitors for interception events and in a single partition, and between partitions. This distributed approach to processing interceptions allows for a considerably less complex virtualiser and moves interception functionalities into each partition. Each external monitor uses resources of the corresponding guest operating system in that partition in order to make a decision on the interception event.
EFFECT: broader functionalities owing to a distributed approach to processing interceptions.
