SUBSTANCE: method and system provide tracking a text line which gives an image containing parallel text lines. A transformed image is used as input data for an optical character recognition program. Identified directions of neighbouring related image elements are linked, thereby identifying text lines which direct lines or similar elements making up the direction of text lines on the entire area of the image or part thereof. Transformation points associated with the linked directions of the text lines on the area of the image are identified.
EFFECT: more reliable text recognition.
