FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: prior to seeding, plant seeds are treated with electric field. Field is generated by pulse AC voltage in the form of packages of harmonic oscillations with envelope in the form of rectangular pulses. Amplitude of pulses or envelope of packages equals 6 kV/m, frequency of their repetition - 200 Hz, duration of pulse - 2 ms, frequency of harmonic oscillations - 16 kHz. Duration of treatment - from 20 min to 9 hr.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce accumulation of, for instance, 137Cs and cadmium in plants grown from seeds.
