FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of composite inorganic sorbents which can be efficiently used to purify solutions from caesium radionuclies. The method of producing a sorbent which is selective towards caesium radionuclides involves addition of a transition metal ferrocyanide to polyacrylic acid derivatives, depositing the polyacrylic acid derivatives with the transition metal ferrocyanide onto the surface of a porous electroconductive material and anodic polarisation to a potential in the interval of 0.3-0.9 V at a rate of 0.1-0.2 mV/s and maintaining this potential until a film is formed. Another version of the method involves addition of transition metal ferrocyanides into electroconductive material and deposition of polyacrylic acid derivatives onto the surface of the material and anodic polarisation of the surface to potential lying in the interval of 0.3-0.9 V at a rate of 0.1-0.2 mV/s and maintaining this potential until a film forms. The porous electroconductive material used is an article made from carbon.
EFFECT: disclosed sorbents exhibit high degree of extracting caesium radionuclides, including from high-salt solutions of liquid radioactive wastes.
