SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of sorption materials for extraction of cesium ions. Method of producing sorbent based on polyacrylonitrile fiber and transition metal ferrocyanide, involving preparation of polyacrylonitrile fiber. Preparation of polyacrylonitrile fiber includes its treatment with sodium hydroxide solution, washing, impregnation with iron III chloride solution, followed by precipitation of iron hydroxide III with ammonia, or treatment thereof with a potassium permanganate solution, followed by washing the prepared fiber and drying to constant weight. With further processing of prepared polyacrylonitrile fiber while stirring with weakly acidic solution of potassium ferrocyanide, by treatment with a solution of a transition metal salt and drying the obtained sorbent to constant weight.
EFFECT: invention provides more complete extraction of 137Cs in static and dynamic conditions with obtaining high distribution coefficients and high exchange capacity due to developed specific surface area of polyacrylonitrile fiber, formation of additional ion-exchange groups (carboxyl, carbonyl, et cetera) during preliminary preparation of polyacrylonitrile fiber, which increases the amount of ferrocyanide grafted to the carrier, and the absence of hydrodynamic resistance.
