SUBSTANCE: drying machine comprises drum, heater, providing for supply of hot air and steam inside drum, and controller, which controls supply of steam to create high-temperature atmosphere inside drum in order to sterilise dry item placed inside drum, and controls supply of hot air to maintain even temperature inside drum. Controller may operate in mode of sterilisation or in mode of refreshment. When working in mode of sterilisation, supply of hot air inside drum is done to sterilise dry item, and when working in mode of refreshment, supply of hot air inside drum is done for a shorter period of time or at lower temperature compared to mode of sterilisation to remove creases on dry item or to deodorise dry item. Method to control drying machine comprises supply of stem inside drum to create high-temperature atmosphere and to sterilise dry item placed in drum, which is controlled in compliance with temperature inside drum, and hot air is supplied inside drum to maintain even temperature inside drum.

EFFECT: creation of drying machine, providing for possibility of efficient sterilisation of dry items within a short period of time, which does not cause their thermal damage, and method to control this machine.
