FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: powdered composition contains serpentine Mg6[Si4O10](OH)8 with embedded magnetite F3O4 in the following ratio in wt %: serpentine 65-75, embedded magnetite 20-30, impurities - not more than 5. The powdered composition also contains serpentine with embedded magnetite, magnesite MgCO3 and magnesium-iron silicate (MgFe)7[Si4O10](OH)8 in the following ratio in wt %: serpentine 65-75, magnetite 10-25, magnesite 5-15, magnesium-iron silicate 2-7. Serpentine is contained mainly in the lizardite IT phase, the size of the embedded magnetite is not more than 50-300 nm. The lubricant composition contains 0.5-80 wt % powdered compositions in the binder. The lubrication method involves placing powdered compositions in the binder between friction surfaces.

EFFECT: cutting on time for formation of a film without preliminary micro-polishing, lower friction, high wear-resistance and longer service life of friction surfaces, low consumption of lubricants and electrical power during operation of machines and mechanisms.
