METHOD TO DEVELOP LONG-TERM PLANTATIONS OF MESOHALOPHYTES ON DEGRADED IRRIGATED AREAS OF RICE BAYS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A01B79/02 

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to agriculture, in particular, to reclamation. Method includes soil treatment, arrangement of grooves at depth of 0.12-0.15 m, laying common licorice rhizome hefts onto bottom of grooves, closing grooves up with soil. Between adjacent alternating grooves for planting of licorice rhizome hefts, additional grooves are formed with spaces between rows of 0.30-0.70 m to lay sod cords with section of 6×6-10×10 cm for depth of 0.12-0.15 m from roots and rhizomes of solonchak wheat grass of two-three years of age. To lay earth apple tubers with diametre of 3.5-6.5 cm in quantity of 8-12 tubers per running metre. To lay sod cords with section of 6×6-10×10 cm for depth of 0.12-0.15 m from roots and rhizomes of dog-grass of one-two years of age. Plantations of licorice hefts, earth apple tubers and sod strips of dog-grass and solonchak wheat grass are flooded with a layer of water of 6-10 cm for a day. Hefts of licorice rhizomes are laid at the angle of 5-15° to groove wall.

EFFECT: method provides for reduced level of ground water depth, extent of its mineralisation and higher content of macro- and microelements in root horizon and humus in upper horizon.
