SUBSTANCE: technical result is achieved by generating a public key and a private key (142) for each of the documents containing an integrated electronic circuit, generating a data structure (142) using a computer system (102) from input personalisation data and one or the open keys for each document, generating control data (112) for personalising documents with one corresponding data structure and private key corresponding to that data structure, sending control data from the computer system to a personalisation device (114) of a production environment (101), sending the data structure and corresponding private keys from the personalisation device to the documents in accordance with control data, storing data structures and corresponding private keys in the memory area (138) of the integrated electronic circuit, where storage of data structures is carried out with provision for access, and stored private keys is carried out such that, external access to the private key is impossible.
