FIELD: ecology.

SUBSTANCE: method of reagent decontamination of sand soils from caesium radionuclides includes treatment of sand soils with a water solution, containing decontaminating reagents, such as mineral sulfuric acid with concentration of 2-4 M, with the ratio of a liquid and solid phase 0.5/1-1/1 in an autoclave at the temperature of 100-140°C. At the same time the cleaned soil is separated into a sand and finely dispersed fractions, the sand fraction is repeatedly exposed to reagent treatment with 0.5-2 M solution of sulfuric acid at the temperature of 80-95°C, and the finely dispersed fraction is exposed to treatment in the autoclave with 2-3 M solution of sulfuric acid with the ratio of the liquid and solid phase of 0.5/1-1/1, at the temperature of 100-140°C, afterwards the caesium radionuclides are withdrawn from the separated aqueous solution with decontaminating reagents by supplying ferrocyanides of alkaline metals or ammonia in the above specified solution to the concentration of 6·10-4-7·10-2 to form a residue, containing caesium radionuclides, which is sent for burial.
