SUBSTANCE: version of the device (100) for generating audio signal subband values in audio signal subband channels comprises a window function analysis module (110) designed to apply a window function to a frame (120) form input readings of the audio signal in the time domain, lying in a sequence of time stretching from an earlier reading to a later reading, using an analysis window function (190), comprising a sequence of window coefficients for obtaining processed window function readings. The analysis window function (190) comprises a first group (200) of window coefficients and a second group (210) of window coefficients. The first group (200) of window coefficients is used to apply the window function to later readings in the time domain, and the second group (210) of window coefficients is used to apply the window function to earlier readings in the time domain. The device (100) also has a computation module (170) designed to calculate audio signal subband values using the processed window function readings.

EFFECT: improvement of the relationship between delay, frequency characteristic, noise propagation time and audio reconstruction quality.
