FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device includes the following: an adder with an acceleration interval to displacement converter; inertial mass; a power amplifier, a computer; a jet frequency generator; jet triggers of threshold values of minimum and maximum pressure on a section; jet pulsers; bidirectional counter-indicator of the code of the measurement section; and AND element; jet triggers-switches of sections; values for switching sections; a stabilised pressure source; feedback chambers in the adder; a discrete valve for switching the range/subrange; a counter; repeaters with shift on the number of sections of the acceleration subrange; a pressure amplifier. The disclosed method is characterised by that the whole acceleration interval is divided into a range and a subrange, which are divided into separate sections according to acceleration. On sections of the range and subrange, acceleration is converted to pressure. Pressure is converted to frequency, a code for the range and subrange is generated, pulses on corresponding sections are summed with their code in order to calculate the quantity and value of velocity on sections of the range and subrange.

EFFECT: high measurement accuracy, as well as high noise immunity and low effect of different types of effects.
