FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: melamine polyol contains a product of reacting: (a) at least one melamine aldehyde resin of formula
in which each of the groups from R1 to R6 is selected from -H, , -CH2OH, -CH2OR7, where R7 denotes a C1-C5 alkyl group, (b) at least one α,γ-diol, where the α,γ-diol is 2-butyl-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol and optionally (c) a compound which contains one functional group capable of reacting with melamine aldehyde resin, and optionally other functional groups, where the reaction of diol (b) and resin (a) takes place in such reactive amounts that the ratio of the number of hydroxyl groups of the diol (b) to the total number of groups from R1 to R6 of resin (a) is between 1.25 and 2.25.
EFFECT: obtaining compositions capable of hardening under ambient conditions and fast drying, which facilitates good application and operational characteristics.
