SUBSTANCE: method of counterfeit protection of an important document includes application of a protective element onto the document surface, and the element is applied using a printing ink that contains an infrared absorber with full colour difference compared to the document base of not more than 7, capable of absorption of optical radiation in the range of wave lengths from 700 to 2500 nm and having an absorption band with half-width from 100 to 300 nm.
EFFECT: efficient method to protect an important document, and reliable inspection of its authenticity.
