FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: swivel includes base, sleeve, housing, two rolling bearings and collars installed between the base and sleeve and is equipped with a cavity located in central channel. Cavity on the supply side of drilling fluid is interconnected with central channel by means of ejector to form in it the negative pressure during pumping of drilling fluid. Formation of negative pressure in the cavity allows excluding direct contact of drilling fluid with collars and sufficiently decreasing the negative influence of abrasive particles contained in drilling fluid for the period of service life of collars and sleeve. In addition, base has channels for discharge of drilling fluid from collars in case of leakage when there is no flow of drilling fluid. Channels allow excluding penetration of drilling fluid into rolling bearings and warning of the necessity of performing collar compression.
EFFECT: proposed swivel design allows without any sufficient costs improving reliability and enlarging service life of its components.
