METHOD OF PHENOTYPIC DIAGNOSTICS OF TOBACCO SYNDROME OF FETUS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B5/107

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely to neonatology. In order to diagnose tobacco syndrome of fetus phenotypic characteristics among full-term babies are determined with giving them diagnostic coefficients (DC). In case if saddle-shaped nose is identified, diagnostic coefficient "5.4" is given; index of head width to filter length 10.21±4.02 "4.35" is given; short filter less than 1 cm - -"2.9"; dysplastic ears - "2.59"; sandal-shaped slot - "2.58"; blue scleras - "1.58"; low location of ears - "1.09"; long eye slot, longer than 2.1 cm - "0.77"; wide bridge of nose - "-0.41"; nipple hypertelorism - "-0.43"; wide filter, more than 0.9 cm - "-0.48"; small ears - "-0.63"; long forearm, longer than 8.76 cm - "-3.95"; pigment spots - "-6.45". Obtained diagnostic coefficients are summed up. If threshold sum equals +13 points, tobacco syndrome of fetus is diagnosed in child with retardation of intrauterine development with probability 95%. If DC id from -13 to +13, diagnosis is considered indefinite and additional finding out of information about mother's smoking during pregnancy is required.

EFFECT: method increases accuracy of diagnosing tobacco syndrome of fetus.
