SUBSTANCE: receiver (3), designed for television signals, has a primary video output (22a) connected to a primary TV (2a), and a secondary video output (22b) connected to a secondary TV (2b) at a remote location 42b. The receiver (3) can be controlled by an infrared remote control device (28), or directly or from a remote location (42b) through a signal relay (40) of the remote control device. The primary TV (2a) can be a widescreen TV with picture ratio 16:9, while the secondary TV (2b) has picture ratio 4:3. The receiver (3) can output video signals suitable for either format, but must apply the same format to the primary, as well as the secondary video outputs (22a, 22b). The receiver (3) detects whether control signals came directly or through a signal relay (40) of the remote control device, and automatically selects the correct format.
EFFECT: providing mobility and portability of the device and easy listening to radio stations and display of information on programs.
